Bartlett School of Architecture – Structural Stone Workshop

From the 15th to the 19th of July we hosted Bartlett School of Architecture’s Structural Stone workshop at our Kennard Road campus. Organised by UCL Associate Professors Oliver Wilton and Klaas De Rycke, and with support from BCC tutors and students, this workshop explored the uses of structural stone as an alternative to carbon-intensive building methods.

BCC Stonemasonry Tutor Nancy Peskett had this to say:

“We really enjoyed being part of this multidisciplinary project and our students got invaluable insights into how their skills fit into the design and construction of structural stone architecture. There was a real buzz in our workshops and we look forward to seeing how we can build on this partnership.”

We had a fantastic time during this workshop and enjoyed seeing so many skilled people with varying specialisms each provide their own unique input and work together to produce such an incredible result.
