Goldfield Stone are looking to recruit site based masons to work in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Work includes:
- Mechanical fixing
- Laying
- Re-pointing – ashlar and random rubble
- Dressing in of limestone
- Banker work
As well as all aspects of restoration and earthquake strengthening. Some banker work is also likely to be available.
Although we have jobs throughout New Zealand, our main focus is on the reinstatement of Christchurch Cathedral. The Cathedral is the iconic building of city and was badly damaged in the earthquakes of 2010 – 2011. It is being reinstated to look exactly as it did before but with additional strengthening.
Goldfield Stone are an accredited employer with New Zealand Immigration and can assist with work visas if required. For suitable candidates, we can also assist with travel costs.
Christchurch is the main city in the South Island of New Zealand. Located on the east coast, it offers easy access to the sparkling Pacific Ocean, the majestic Southern Alps and an ancient volcanic peninsula all within driving distance.
