Apprenticeship – Organ Building L3 Standard

We have worked closely with the Institute of British Organ Building (IBO) on this Apprenticeship and are delighted to welcome applicants for September 2023                                                                                                                        

Organ Building L3 Standard

Organ building apprenticeship (only eligible to employed apprentices);

Training will be provided for all aspects of organ building, including:

1. Joinery & cabinet-making;
2. Tuning;
3. Voicing;
4. Leatherwork;
5. Low-voltage electronics;
6. Metalwork;
7. Pipe-making (wood & metal);
8. Soundboard restoration & planting new soundboards;
9. Organ design;
10. Types of action: mechanical, pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and direct electric.

Grade 4 in Maths and English. However if you have grades lower than this we may still be able to offer you a place. We have English and Maths teachers to tutor you through to re-taking your exams.
